Trevor Noah Runs Racist Hit Piece on Staten Island Bar Owner Who Defied COVID Shutdown Orders

The Daily Show’s Trevor Noah ran a racist hit piece shaming Staten Island bar owner Dan Presti for keeping his establishment open despite orders from state and local government to shut down due to COVID-19. The comic claims the man has received lax treatment by law enforcement because of the color of his skin.

In a segment called “You’re so lucky you’re white,” Noah introduces Presti as a “lucky white person” and labels his campaign to fight for his right to do business in New York as a “stand against staying alive.”

Pestri, co-owner of Mac’s Public House in Staten Island, was arrested after declaring his business as an “autonomous zone” as a means to dodge COVID shutdown orders.

Despite the bar’s liquor license being taken away, the owners continued to operate the establishment in an area deemed an ‘orange zone’.

“It’s a very white thing to do just declare yourself an independent if you don’t like the law,” Noah says in the piece aired Wednesday night.

The comic who poses as a news anchor adds that the American Revolution was “basically white guys saying ‘I’ll drink tea if I want to drink tea.'”

… Because god forbid this bar owner wants to make an honestly living by serving people who voluntarily step into his place of business …

… and god forbid we can’t keep his skin color of out it.

As covered in the hit piece, Presti would have another run in with law enforcement earlier this week with sheriff’s deputies attempting to arrest him for continuing to run his bar.

Surveillance footage of the incident shows two deputies chasing Persti to his jeep. The bar owner manages to get inside the vehicle and ends up driving off carrying one officer on the hood.

According to Presti’s lawyer, the officers did not identify themselves as law enforcement, which was the reason Presti fled.

Noah proclaims: “That dude is so lucky he is white.”

“Can you imagine cops say you hit one of them with your car and you get released without bail … Best Believe if he was black cops would have dragged him out of his car, beat the shit out of him, and then beat the shit out of his car.”

Here is the Daily Show, who is currently encouraging its viewers to donate to restaurants effected by COVID shutdowns, shaming a bar and grill owner for trying to keep his income and livelihood afloat. And being totally racist on top of it.
