Swiss Man Dies Shortly After Pfizer Jab, Follows Reports of Israeli Man Dying, Nurse Infected After Shot

One of the first people to receive the Pfzier/BioNTech vaccine in Switzerland has died, according to the Swiss Canton of Lucerne. The exact cause of death has yet to be determined as the Canton has not to released any additional details about the duration of time between inoculation and the man’s death.

Swiss news outlet Zeitpunkt is reporting that the death came “immediately” after the vaccination.

The man is said to have been a nursing home resident who had dementia and complained of urethral and abdominal pain on Saturday. His blood pressure would later drop, according to the Swiss outlet.

“We are aware of the case,” a spokesperson said on Wednesday, adding the death has been referred to Swiss drugs regulators.

Covid vaccinations began in Lucerne one week ago with the eldery being the first to receive the shots.

So far, the vaccine manufactured by Pfizer and its partner BioNTech is the only vaccine approved in Switzerland.

News of the man’s death comes after reports out of Israel document an elderly man had died 2 hour after receiving a COVID-19 vaccination on Monday.

According to reports in the Israeli press, a 75 year old man from Beit Shean died Monday morning from a heart attack about 2 hours after receiving the vaccine.

The patient has received the vaccine at 0830 in the morning, then waited for the customary time at the health clinic before he was released to his home after reportedly feeling well. Some time after that, the man lost consciousness, then was pronounced dead.

The Israeli Health Ministry released a statement on the death: “A 75-year-old man from the north of the country suffering from active heart disease and malignant disease, who has undergone a number of heart attacks, was vaccinated this morning against the coronavirus and died at home shortly after the procedure.”

These instances coincide with 5K out of the first 215K recipients of the vaccine in the US reporting some kind of “adverse health impact event”, which constitutes any reaction that seriously limits an individual’s ability to function and/or complete daily tasks.

It’s also worth noting that reports out of Seattle show a local nurse tested positive for COVID-19 just one week after receiving the Pfizer vaccine, another situation that could damage public trust in the inoculation.
