Sen. Mastriano: ‘We’ll Ensure Secure Elections in Afghanistan, but Not in Pennsylvania’
“Houston, we got a problem, and we need to fix it,” the Senator added.
Pennsylvania State Senator Doug Mastriano has expressed disbelief over what he believes is the United States’ prioritization of secure elections in foreign nations rather than those inside its boarders.
Mastriano, who has served four years with NATO and deployed three times to Afghanistan, said in an Interview with Real America’s Voice on Thursday “it amazes me that we’ll move heaven and earth to ensure safe and free elections in” other nations.
“We’ll make sure there’s ID cards, there’s security, there’s retinal scans, bio scans … one person one legal vote and we go to all these extents in Afghanistan that has a fairer, more free, more secure election than Pennsylvania, and we can’t do that in our own state where it all started in 1776,” he said.
“Houston, we got a problem, and we need to fix it,” the Senator added.
Pennsylvania Republicans filed an emergency injunction request Thursday afternoon to the U.S. Supreme Court before plans to file a more formal appeal request to the justices, according to a GOP lawyer that spoke with The Hill.
Mastriano believes that the final determination of an election winner will fall upon the nation’s Supreme Court.
“The ultimate decision right now is in the hands of the U.S. Supreme Court,” he said.
