Parkland Parent: “If Biden is Elected, Dangerous Policies that Caused Parkland Shooting Will Be Forced Into Your Kids’ School”

The ideology behind these policies – and behind the Broward school district’s behavior – is a politically correct cancer known as “Critical Race Theory” or “anti-racism.”

If Joe Biden is elected president this November, the same policies that left Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, vulnerable to violence will be coming to a public school near you, warns a parent of a Parkland shooting victim.

Andrew Pollack, whose daughter was murdered in the 2018 Parkland school shooting, is warning that a Biden presidency would further embolden and take nation wide the politically correct, “anti-racist” ideology that had “replaced human decency” at the Parkland highschool.

“My daughter Meadow was murdered in the Parkland school shooting. I haven’t smiled since. I don’t think I’ll ever smile again. But last week, the Broward County School Board demanded my psychiatric records — among those of other Parkland parents — to prove that I’ve suffered,” Pollack wrote in an Oct. 18th write-up for Breitbart.

“That might shock you. It shouldn’t. It did not surprise me at all. I’ve seen what happens when politically correct “anti-racist” ideology replaces human decency in a public school system,” he wrote. “If Joe Biden is elected president, you’ll find out too.”

Pollack explains that while digging into Stoneman Douglas High School’s policies after his daughter and 16 others were murder by gunman Nikolas Cruz, he found the school “had a policy to allow convicted rapists and murderers back into normal classrooms.”

“[The policy] gave students three free misdemeanors every single year,” Pollack wrote, while going on to explain: “… principals were systematically sweeping problems under the rug to make themselves look good under “restorative justice” discipline policies. That the district took a kid who told them he wanted to kill, that he dreamt of being covered in blood, and put him in school with my daughter.”

According to Mindful Schools, restorative justice policy is the view that “harm” is a fracturing of relationships that requires a therapeutic response rather than punishment.

A May 2014 notation in Broward County school psychiatric files revealed that shooter Nikolas Cruz reported having dreams of himself killing people and covered in blood, according to the Miami Herald.

When parents found out about such policies at Stoneman Douglas and approached the school board to demand answers, Broward Superintendent Robert Runcie said he believed that the school hadn’t taken the politically correct policy far enough.

When parents started to learn about these policies, we came to the school board demanding answers. Broward Superintendent Robert Runcie heard our concerns and then said “I really find it ironic that folks are coming to lecture the district on our discipline [policy], when a couple of weeks ago I received a letter from the ACLU,” saying that said Broward hadn’t gone far enough on restorative justice.

That’s right. He looked parents whose children were murdered because of his policies in the eye and told them their concern was “ironic” because a left-wing organization said he hadn’t gone far enough with his leftist policies.

The more the Parkland parents learned, the more we demanded accountability. So the school district slandered us as racists. The district announced a public meeting on school safety, and Superintendent Runcie knew we would be there. So his deputy sent out an e-mail to black church leaders accusing us of using “vile language” not seen “since desegregation orders were enforced.”

Pollack dubs Broward County as “ground zero” for the restorative justice policies that “got rid of consequences and let dangerous behavior run wild because school bureaucrats thought it was the way to fight systemic racism.”

“President Trump put an end to that, but if Biden is elected, the dangerous policies that caused Parkland will be forced into your kids’ school,” he writes.

Pollack says that these disciplinary ideas stem from a “politically correct cancer known as Critical Race Theory”:

But the danger goes beyond just those discipline policies. The ideology behind these policies – and behind the Broward school district’s behavior – is a politically correct cancer known as “Critical Race Theory” or “anti-racism.” The logic, if you can call it that, goes like this: “We are fighting racism. Anyone who disagrees with us, therefore, is racist. And racists are evil.”

President Trump has promised to put an end to indoctrination through Critical Race Theory. But if Biden is elected, it will almost certainly become a mandatory feature of American public education.

If Biden is elected president, your children will be less safe in school. They will be taught Black Lives Matter ideology. And your kids’ teachers will be trained to understand any objection that you have to anything that they do is a sign that you are a white supremacist. And if your kid ends up getting murdered in school, and you have a problem with it, they’ll attack you.

Pollack ends his piece for Breitbart stating: “If President Trump loses, pull your kids out of public schools. Or keep rolling the dice with their lives, and keep entrusting them to people that will call you racist if you’re upset when your kids get murdered.”

In September, President Trump signed multiple executive orders halting the tax-payer funding of critical race theory (CRT) training sessions to workers in various U.S. executive branch agencies and federal government contractors.

The President is also attempting to counter CRT in schools with his announcement of plans for a new commission to promote “patriotic education.” He would say that the CRT framing of history around race is “toxic propaganda” and “a form of child abuse in the truest sense of those words.”

In August, Former Vice President Biden and Senator Bernie Sanders jointly laid the vision of a Biden administration with their release of a “Unity Task Force” plan which states:

“Democrats believe we must break the school-to-prison pipeline that sees children of color
arrested in their classrooms for misbehavior that ought to be handled in the principal’s office.”

Biden also watched the implementation of the Obama administration’s PROMISE Program (Preventing Recidivism through Opportunities, Mentoring, Interventions, Supports & Education), which was based around racial and ethnic quotas for application of disciplinary measures in schools. The program was marketed as “restorative justice.”

Such Obama era measures to “stem the school-to-prison pipeline” came under fire after the Parkland school shooting, notably, by Senator Marco Rubio who said in a letter to Secretary of Education Betsy Davos that federal guidance may have contributed to systemic failures to report Nikolas Cruz’s dangerous behaviors to local law enforcement.

“The overarching goals of the 2014 directive to mitigate the school-to-prison pipeline, reduce suspensions and expulsions, and to prevent racially biased discipline are laudable and should be explored,” Rubio wrote. “However, any policy seeking to achieve these goals requires basic common sense and an understanding that failure to report trouble students, like Cruz, to law enforcement can have dangerous repercussions.”

Before going on a 17 student killing spree, Parkland shooter Nikolas Cruz had shown a history of violence and mental instability with his mother having to repeatedly call police to their home to help deal with his outbursts.

From 2008 to 2017, Broward County deputies received at least 18 calls warning them about Cruz, including concerns that he planned to shoot up the school.
