Michigan Rep. Punished by Legislature Over Calls for Violence Against Trump Supporters
“Make them pay.”
Democrat Michigan Rep. Cynthia Johnson issued a war like message against “Trumpsters” in a video posted to her Facebook page this week in which she said: ” … be careful. Tread lightly. We ain’t playin’ with you…”
“Enough is enough,” Johnson says, going on to add: “And for those of you who are soldiers… you know how to do it. Do it right. Be in order. Make them pay.”
In light of the video, Michigan House Speaker Lee Chatfield and Speaker-elect Jason Wentworth have decided to remove Johnson from her committee assignments and are looking into further disciplinary actions.
Chatfield and Wentworth would issue a statement saying “threats to either Democrats or Republicans is unacceptable and un-American.”
Johnson took to Facebook again on Wednesday to try to clarify that her message was talking about ‘soldiers for Christ, against racism and against mysoginy,’ but apparently the House leaders aren’t buying that.
