Mainstream Media Ignores Bombshell Cuomo Revelations, Covers Royal Family, Police Horses Instead

A true showcase of their priorities …

In a move that can only be described as the new normal for American mainstream media, two bombshell stories involving New York Governor Andrew Cuomo were ignored by major news networks on Thursday, with “the most trusted names in news” instead deciding to go with a fluff piece about the British royal family, a mindless story about police horses, and discussion about an art museum.

On Thursday, two exposés from the Associated Press and the New York Post hit the wires revealing what amounts to startling incompetence in the New York Governor’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic and what appears to be a deliberate coverup of NY’s nursing home death toll.

The AP‘s story detailed how Cuomo had sent over 9,000 elderly coronavirus patients back to their long-term care centers, a number larger than initially understood.

“The new number of 9,056 recovering patients sent to hundreds of nursing homes is more than 40% higher than what the state health department previously released,” the AP reported. “And it raises new questions as to whether a March 25 directive from Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s administration helped spread sickness and death among residents, a charge the state disputes.”

The New York Post story included a recorded phone call involving Cuomo’s top aide privately apologizing to Democratic lawmakers over a decision to withhold the state’s nursing-home COVID-19 death toll out of fear that it would be “used against us” by the Trump Justice Department.

“The AP story dropped before the broadcast networks went to air, but none of them covered it. Not even a news brief,” NewsBusters’ Nicholas Fondacaro reported Thursday night. “This meant ABC’s World News Tonight, the CBS Evening News, and NBC Nightly News chose not to share the politically damaging story with their viewers.

“Instead of covering Cuomo‘s deadly incompetence, ABC gawked at police horses that ran down a street. CBS focused on a frivolous story about the British royal family. And over on NBC, they showed off an art museum,” he added.

Coming as no surprise to most, CNN also turned a blind eye to the Cuomo bombshells, as Fondacaro reported again late Thursday:

Just as CNN’s prime time line up was kicking off their Thursday night hate-fest against Senate Republicans with former President Trump’s second impeachment trial as the backdrop, the New York Post published a bombshell report featuring a recorded phone call of a New York State official admitting Democratic Governor Andrew Cuomo’s administration intentionally tried to cover-up nursing home deaths. And despite having hours of air time, the Cuomo-backing network ignored the story entirely.

In the early days of the pandemic, when Prime Time host Chris “Fredo” Cuomo was broadcasting from his basement “quarantine,” CNN stretched journalistic ethics past the breaking point when they let the lesser Cuomo interview his governor-brother. These interviews occurred almost routinely for months.

But what CNN was helping to cover-up on Thursday went far beyond that.

As the MSM networks take the “see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil” approach to covering news, polls show that the American public largely remains distrustful of mass media, with six in 10 having “not very much” trust (27%) or “none at all” (33%), according to Gallup.
