Fauci Recommends Wearing Masks During Thanksgiving Celebrations
“…to the extent possible keep the mask on even if you are indoors.”
Dr. Anthony Fauci is recommending that Americans wear masks while celebrating thanksgiving this year, even if they are indoors and with a small group of people.
Appearing on CBS news Friday morning, Fauci was asked whether or not it was true that people should be wearing masks indoors and in their own homes this up coming Thanksgiving, to which he replied: “Yes, it is true.”
“Now, obviously it is kind of difficult to be eating and drinking at dinner with a mask on, you can’t do that,” he said.
“But to the extent you can keep that mask on … if you’re indoors and gathering with people, even if it’s a relatively small group, to the extent possible keep the mask on even if you are indoors.”
When asked if masks should be worn even if everyone in the group gathering has tested negative for COVID-19, the physician trumpeted an extended explanation of how families need to go through a “risk/benefit ratio” to determine how necessary mask wearing is for the celebration, something that would have seemed totally dystopic just a few months ago.
Fauci is reportedly not spending time with his two daughters this Thanksgiving due to them living in cities with high infection rates and because his ripe of 79.
To his credit ( …if you can call it that), Fauci’s mask recommendations for the up coming holiday pales in comparison to the wildly over the top “guidance” on private gatherings given by California Governor Gavin Newsom.
The guidelines, issued in October, limit gatherings to three separate households, limit those gatherings to under two hours, and recommends no singing or chanting, all while wearing a mask. It also recommends arranging seating to be six feet apart from the person next to you and to avoid passing dishes around the table,
