BET Founder Says Voting Democrat Gives Black Americans “Minimum Return”

Black Entertainment Television founder Robert Johnson says Black Americans receive minimum return in terms of economic wealth and jobs from their historically strong support of Democrats.

Speaking to CNBC last week, Johnson praised the black unemployment rate under the presidency of Donald Trump while explaining that many in the black community are “tired” of being disappointed by economic performance under Democrats.

“I’m still bullish on the President’s agenda,” the BET founder and first black billionaire said. “If you think about it, for African Americans under Trump’s leadership we had the lowest unemployment rate for Black Americans in over 50 years.”

“I think Black Americans are getting a little bit tired of delivering huge votes for the Democrats, and seeing minimal return in terms of economic wealth and closing the wealth gap, the job creation and job opportunities,” he would add.

Johnson explained that current President-elect (at least by mainstream media declaration) Joe Biden “was not an inspiring candidate for many Black Americans” and he doubts that the potential 46th president will restore economic health because of a Biden administration’s willingness to trade the economy for coronavirus response.

“Black people do not embrace Biden as he never articulated a policy that went directly to the concerns of Black Americans,” he said. “I don’t think Biden has that leadership quotient that’s going to allow him to do what is critical to bring the economy back, due to the trade-off between restoring the economy and fighting the pandemic.”

Johnson’s gripes with Democrats are very similar to those of famed NBA star Charles Barkley who has shown little issues with bashing the Democrats on the economy.

“I like Tump,” Barkley said in 2015. “… Black people have been voting for Democrats their whole life, and they’re still poor.”

More recently, Barkley slammed Democrats for pandering to the black community only when the 4 year election cycles peak.

“We need to start holding you Democrats accountable,” Barkley said in 2019 interview. “Because they’ve been taking black people’s votes—and they only talk to black people every four years. All of these politicians only talk to black people every four years because they want their vote.”

Many on the left were upset with the large increase in black support received by President Trump during the 2020 election, with one New York Times columnist saying he was “personally devastated” about it.

One thing is for certain, after being tagged as a racist for 4 straight years by mainstream news networks – as a part of 95% negative news coverage of the President- Trump’s numbers with minorities this election are truly impressive.

Perhaps the MSM is losing some credibility …
